Call for Abstracts – CAHLN 2027
Submission Deadline: February 15, 2027
The Scientific Committee of the 25th CAHLN Annual Meeting, taking place in Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec, from May 30 to June 2, 2027, invites submissions of scientific abstracts under the theme:
Beyond the Diagnosis: The Changing Role of Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories
We welcome submissions highlighting scientific research, diagnostic innovations, emerging technologies, and interesting or challenging cases relevant to veterinary diagnostic laboratories.
In keeping with this year’s theme, we particularly encourage submissions exploring the evolving role of diagnostic laboratories, including:
- Emerging and innovative diagnostic technologies
- Artificial intelligence, automation, and digital pathology
- Data management and laboratory informatics
- Emerging infectious diseases and disease surveillance
- Diagnostic case reports and investigations
- Laboratory quality assurance and operational improvements
- Education, training, and workforce development
- The expanding role of veterinary diagnostic laboratories in animal and public health
Special Interest – Veterinary Mycology
We particularly welcome interesting or challenging diagnostic case reports in veterinary mycology for a potential dedicated scientific session.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
- Language: All abstracts must be submitted in English.
- Length: Maximum 300 words (recommended length: 250–300 words).
- Content: Abstracts should clearly describe the background or objectives, methods or case description, results or findings, and conclusions or diagnostic significance, as applicable.
- Presentation formats: Submissions may be considered for oral or poster presentations.
- Selection: All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee, which will determine acceptance and presentation format.
Authors will be notified of acceptance by mid-March 2027.

2027 CAHLN Conference Registration
Don’t wait! Take advantage of early registration to save on costs and guarantee hotel room availability.
Registration includes access to the welcome reception on Sunday, May 30, as well as conferences, exhibitions, snacks, and lunches from Monday, May 31, to Wednesday, June 2.
Students also receive a 50% discount on the registration fee.
The banquet on Tuesday, June 1, is available for an additional 110$ for conference attendees and 150$ for other guests.

Banquet Event – June 1st
Enjoy an exclusive 30-minute behind-the-scenes tour of the Granby Zoo, followed by a cocktail reception in the *Odyssée Pacifique Sud* pavilion, where you can view several aquariums. A three-course dinner, including wine, will be served in the adjoining Kaila Hall.
Bus transportation from the faculty will be provided, with return service available to either the faculty or the three official conference hotels.
The cost for the evening is $110 for conference attendees and $150 for other guests.

Student Travel Awards – Two Awards of $1,000
To encourage student and trainee participation from across Canada, CAHLN 2027 is pleased to offer two Student Travel Awards of $1,000 each.
The awards will be granted to two students or trainees selected for oral presentations, based on the scientific quality, originality, and relevance of their submitted abstracts.
To be eligible, applicants must submit their abstract by February 15, 2027, indicate their student or trainee status, and express their interest in being considered for a travel award.
Award recipients will be notified in March 2027, allowing sufficient time to make travel arrangements.
Award recipients must attend the CAHLN 2027 Annual Meeting and deliver their oral presentation to receive the award.
Reserved room block for the conference
Rooms must be booked at least 45 days prior to the arrival date to guarantee availability and rates. Each attendee is responsible for making their own reservation and handling payment.
